MNW Partner Recognized in Campbell, California – March 6, 2008 - Bertha Minnihan, a partner with Mohler, Nixon & Williams, was recently named by the Business Journal as one of the “2008 Women of Influence in Silicon Valley.” Every year the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal publicizes the honor program to recognize the increasingly important role that women are playing in the top echelons of business and non-profit organizations in Silicon Valley, and to acknowledge the value of such contributions. Bill Kelleher, MNW’s Managing Partner, honored Minnihan’s accomplishment and dedication to the accounting firm. “Bertha enjoys sharing her life and professional experience with co-workers, mentoring them to be the rising and future leaders of the firm. Today, the Business Journal reflects that.” Recognizing the challenges for women in the workforce, Minnihan stated, “Often times we are not fully supported by society or are mislead by our peers to settle for what comes our way when in fact we can set our own course and enjoy making our dreams come true, be it in our personal lives or our professional lives.” Minnihan, recently selected to lead MNW’s Audit Department, specializes in auditing services related to ERISA plans. Her expertise spans 15 years. Her clients include public and private companies who sponsor plans such as 401(k), pension, employee stock ownership, health and welfare benefit plans. Minnihan has been the co-chair for the annual national AICPA Benefit Plan conference since 2005 and serves on the AICPA’s Technical Standards Subcommittee, which assists with the Department of Labor’s review of ERISA audits and auditors. In addition, Minnihan currently serves on the Board of Directors of Project HIRED, a non-profit organization.
