John Murphy - Owner
John specializes in tax planning and compliance for corporations and individuals. He has extensive experience working with clients ranging from closely held companies and their owners to large multi-nationals. John's experience includes areas such as start-up and emerging growth companies, mergers and acquisitions, accounting for income taxes, multi-state and international tax planning. In addition to his high technology industry expertise, John advises companies in manufacturing, retail, publishing, agriculture, and professional services.

Prior to joining Mohler, Nixon & Williams, John was a tax partner with the San Jose office of Deloitte & Touche in their Technology, Media & Telecommunications Group. John graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a degree in accounting. He also has a Masters of Business Taxation from the University of Southern California. John is a member of the AICPA and California Society of CPAs. He lives in San Jose with his wife, Debra, and their children Jack and Mary Carol.
