Jim's processes involve the coordination of estate, financial and tax planning solutions, centering on how best to achieve a client's broader goals and objectives. His creativity and insight have enabled him to play pivotal roles in a variety of complex legal and financial solutions. Jim's unique vision is responsible for bringing professional hockey to San Jose, and returning professional baseball to Sacramento, while earning him a reputation as a professional who makes things happen.

Jim is a tax attorney and has practiced law in Silicon Valley for over twenty years. Jim's law practice has centered around "life planning" for high net worth individuals which would include financial and personal management, often utilizing trusts, partnerships, charitable giving vehicles and other appropriate techniques. He was previously with Hopkins & Carley where he was past managing partner and shareholder.

Jim holds a Juris Doctor degree from the Santa Clara University School of Law, an LL.M in taxation from Golden Gate University, and a bachelors degree in political science from the University of California in Los Angeles. He was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1980.
